Happy New Year from Buenos Aries!

We had a good New Years Eve at the apartment. For New Years here in Buenos Aries it seems many people either stay in with family or go out to a set menu deal at a restaurant. Things actually seem pretty quiet until the stroke of midnight when people on every block start setting off fireworks. And then, at about 1:00 AM, start filling the streets and bars. We simply toasted to the New Year with some Malbec at midnight, watched some fireworks then went to bed.

We started off the night on New Years being able to Skype with our folks, Veronica, Jed & Becky and Shauna before they headed out to the Yonder Mountain String Band show in Denver. We wished that we had a transport machine to be there with them. As we had said in previous posts, we have had the most amazing time and experiences, but we miss our friends and family dearly.

Earlier in the day we rented bikes and went through the Parque Natural y Reserva Ecolgica Costanera Sur, which is a beautiful park in Buenos Aries between the city itself and the water.
